<P><STRONG>Attention:</STRONG> Please be aware that some person or a group of persons is perpetrating a mail fraud scam using the Transamerica name. Transamerica Life Insurance Company and Transamerica Financial Life Insurance Company are not affiliated with a Sweepstakes Lottery or with any of the parties associated with it. We have notified law enforcement agencies and are working to put an immediate stop to this matter. </P>
<P>As part of this scam, people are notified by U.S. Mail that they have been chosen as a winner of a “Sweepstakes Lottery”. A counterfeit check, provided with the mailing, is said to cover the payment of taxes associated with the prize. The recipients are instructed to call a claim agent for instructions for collecting their prize and paying taxes.</P>
<P>If you receive one of these letters, you are urged neither to respond nor to attempt to cash the fraudulent check. Please be advised that counterfeit checks will not be honored and your bank will require you to cover the loss if deposited.</P>
