Transamerica offers a variety of investment choices1 to meet the needs of our clients. A financial advisor can help his or her client select the investments and services that meet the client’s specific needs and goals.
Here are some highlights of the programs we provide:
- Mutual Fund or Group Annuity Platforms
- Third Party Administrator or Full-Service Options
- Hundreds of investment choices2
- More than 35 investment management companies3
- Stable Value investment choices4
- Target Maturity choices5
To make saving for retirement more simple, participants have the freedom to choose a Target Maturity portfolio that automatically balances among stocks, bonds, and cash, to help their asset allocation strategies stay on course. The participant may choose a portfolio built on or near their year of retirement, and the asset allocation of that portfolio adjusts accordingly as the target retirement date approaches. The “target retirement date” is the date on which participants intend to retire and start receiving distributions from the plan. While asset allocation is key to a portfolio’s long-term returns, it should be understood that the principle value of Target Maturity portfolios is not guaranteed at any time, including at the target maturity date.

The Transamerica Investment Monitor assists you in helping you to fulfilling your fiduciary duty to select investment choices for your plan that have a reasonable expectation to perform well over the long term.
Key Features of TIM:
- We seek to identify managers and organizations that have the resources, processes and potential to deliver consistent performance over time.
- We maintain the highest standards in selecting and continually monitoring the investment choices offered for your retirement plan line-up.
- We present analysis in a simple and easy-to-understand scorecard format.
- We look for investment choices that have lower than average management expenses.
Investment Choice Review and Selection Process
Transamerica considers reviewing performance a critical component of the selection and monitoring process; however, Transamerica’s Investment Committee does not chase performance when reviewing potential investment choices. TIM’s strategy also considers investment choices that are consistent within their asset class and have lower than average management expenses.
TIM examines six different criteria to determine if an investment choice is appropriate for our investment line-up:
- Performance Measurement
- Style Consistency
- Fees & Expenses
- Investment Process & Portfolio Composition
- Management Tenure
TIM’s due diligence process seeks to identify managers and organizations that have the resources, processes and disciplines in place to deliver consistent performance over time.
